Insurance & Payment Options
What your plan covers, what is elective, and how financing works — explained the way we would across the front desk.
Quick Answer
Berg-Feinfield works with Medicare and many major medical insurance plans for medically necessary eye care such as cataract surgery, glaucoma, and cornea treatment. Elective procedures like LASIK are not insurance-covered but can be financed through CareCredit. To verify your specific plan, call 866-2-SEE-FAR — our staff will check your benefits before your visit.
How Coverage Usually Works in Eye Care
Three categories determine what your plan pays — and what it doesn't.
Covered: Medical Eye Care
Medically necessary care — cataract evaluation and standard cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, cornea disease, dry eye disease, eye injuries — is billed to Medicare or your medical insurance like any other medical care.
Elective: Vision Correction
LASIK, PRK, EVO ICL, and Refractive Lens Exchange are elective and paid out of pocket — typically with FSA/HSA funds or monthly financing.
Upgrades: Premium Choices
Within covered cataract surgery, laser assistance and premium lens implants that reduce glasses dependence are elective upgrades you can add to an otherwise covered procedure.
Financing That Fits Your Budget
Clear vision shouldn't wait on a lump sum.
Berg-Feinfield offers flexible payment options through CareCredit, with easy monthly payment plans and quick approval decisions for LASIK, cataract lens upgrades, and other vision correction procedures.
